3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
