Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists

The rules of category A1 are applicable to those who want to operate small motorcycles. These vehicles have a maximum capacity of 35 kW. They are not derived directly from vehicles that have more than double their power.

The open drone operation category can be divided into three subcategories A1 through A3. You can fly drones that have the class label C0 or A1 in the A1 subcategory (flying over people) until January 2024.

A1

Category Kup Prawo Jazdy Kategorii A1 is the first of three drone categories subject to the control of EASA. It is available to aircrafts that are up to a maximum takeoff mass (MTOM) that is 25 kilograms. It requires a flight plan and a flight log as well as a remote identification system and a geoawareness system. The drone must also be visible to the pilot at all at all times. It is prohibited to fly over people or areas used for recreational, commercial or industrial reasons. The drone must remain below 120 meters.

A1 applicants must have a minimum of 16 years of experience two-wheeled vehicles. They must also complete compulsory basic training and pass the theory test and practical test. They must also have an authentic medical certificate.

A1 license holders are allowed to drive mopeds with a cylinder capacity of no greater than 1250 cc and a power-to-weight ratio of no more than 0.01 kW/kg. They can also ride motorcycles that have an optimum cylinder capacity of 125 cc as well as trikes, quad bikes and quad-bikes.

The category A1 licence is designed to allow drivers to move up to the next vehicle category. This permits drivers to drive vehicles with a the maximum weight of 35 kW. This is a way to get some experience driving less powerful vehicles prior to moving on to higher category of licence.

A2

You can also fly drones that have a maximum mass of 4kg in the A2 category however, they must be kept at a safe distance away from people during take-off and landing. The drones must be at least 30m away from people in low-speed mode, or 5m if they are not in use. You also must pass the A2 Certificate of Competence (A2 CofC) exam to fly in this class.

If you want to fly larger drones, you'll need to apply for an operator's license in the specific category. This requires you to complete the General VLOS Certificate training, flight assessment and prepare an Operations Manual. The application process is similar to a PfCO. A2 allows you to fly transitional drones that aren't CE-marked but have been modified to lessen collision risks with people. You will only be able to fly these drones in A2 until the end of 2022, after which they'll need to comply with A3 regulations.

The A1 and A2 categories will help you become a confident and safe motorcyclist. The amount of lessons you will have to complete will depend on your level of ability and progress, but a predetermined amount of special rides must be taken. This is a minimum of five lessons on country road as well as four on highways and three at dawn or at night.

A3

This category permits flights with drones that have the maximum mass for take-off of up to 25 kg. Although it is a lower risk operation, strict precautions should be taken to reduce potential incidents. A safety distance of 150 meters must be maintained from industrial, commercial, residential and recreational areas. This is also a requirement for drones to have an identification system for remotes and geoawareness systems.

The tier is also split into sub categories: A1, A2, or A3. A4

The DOH is currently preparing guidelines for category A4. These will be consistent with the other operations and will also include information like the number of dressing changes per day. They will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections (IATF-EID) and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. The IATF EID and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group will review and approve these guidelines before they are finalized.

In this category, drones that have a class identification label C0 and C1 are permitted to fly within a minimum distance of 50 metres from uninvolved people. This is a relatively low-risk subcategory, but stringent precautions must still be taken to avoid accidents. Drones that aren't classified in either Wydawanie Prawa Jazdy A1 or A2 must have passed an additional theoretical knowledge examination to operate in this subcategory.

This test aims to determine the level of knowledge about the dangers of flying drones close to people. The certificate of competence is issued upon successful completion of this test. The pilot must maintain a minimum distance of 30 metres between the aircraft and all other persons not involved, or 5 metres when flying in slow-flight mode.

You have to complete a certain amount of lessons to pass the theory test and then the practical test. This depends on your age, capabilities and the level of learning. But, at least 12 lessons of 90 minutes must be completed.

During these lessons, you will familiarize yourself with your machine and traffic rules.
