It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris like books and broken toys.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or Robot Vacuums That Mop RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well, but it's something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot cleaner with mop vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.

The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were nice jingles to let you know that it was beginning and finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to change the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot vacuum best is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our test, but it also has distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base also has a number of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
