Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved through upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for an item. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item upgrader increases. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Many weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Some can be improved with an suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They move to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective in communicating messages across language barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that a glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually improves it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the product you are in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade item components that are added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved with the glyph shards.

If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot of damage from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in various ways such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle these recycled items. Leveling

There are a variety of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount which boosts the upgrade value of a given stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
