World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrader Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Utilizing the Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade item system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader mod is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is highly useful in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade items slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost mentioned above.
